History
UCLan began life as the Institution for the Diffusion of Knowledge in 1828, then transitioned through further technical and educational incarnations to become a full university. Over time it has expanded its campuses, modernised its offerings and strengthened its global partnerships. In recent years significant investment has been made in new facilities, including a major campus redevelopment at Preston, underscoring its commitment to offering a world-class student experience.
